This workshop gives you the format to set them and make them possible as there is power in numbers. Use this auspicious time to collectively envision your life and manifest your limitless potential.
What to expect: This is an amazing experience for anyone looking to get motivated to practice Yoga. Suitable even for beginners, the classes have unique themes and work towards a different sequence each week. Each week the series changes to help you work on different types of poses. This approach will help to strengthen and open your body, while keeping your practice fresh and exciting. This is the 6th year of our Yoga Bootcamps and we are confident from years of experience that you will learn a lot about Yoga, about yourselves and about how much better life is with Yoga in it. Combining techniques from Source Yoga Training and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction you will experience aspects of basic alignment, yin, restorative, flow, and mindfulness meditation in these classes, designed specifically for the equestrian athlete. You will discover and experience the union of breath and body, balancing strength and flexibility, improving posture and hip opening leading you to a greater awareness of your own presence and that of your horse. Yoga can improve your concentration, body awareness, ease your anxieties and increase your ability to be present on your mat, in the saddle, and in your life. No previous yoga experience required. The beautiful studio at Source Yoga will be the location for this meditation and movement class. We will begin each class with a series of movements designed to prepare the body for more focused meditation in the posture you choose for formal sitting. Each week we will practice one of a variety of the mediations generally taught in the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course; Body Scan, Awareness of Breath, Awareness of Breath and Body, Awareness of Sound, Choiceless Awareness, and Loving Kindness. 8 weeks Sunday Mornings 9:00 - 10:15 am beginning January 16th $96.00 for eight weeks pre-registration Instructor: Dawn MacDonald, BA, Yoga Teacher, 200hr level, Reiki Practitioner Level I, MBSR Instructor: U of W & CMHA. Dawn has been a student of meditation on and off since the late 1970s. Since 1998, Dawn has consistently practiced meditation and in 2008 became trained by her continuing teacher, Dr. Steven Hick in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Steven is a student of Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine as well as Matthew Flickstein of The Forest Way. Dawn has taught the eight week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course based on Kabat-Zinn’s book, Full Catastrophe Living in a variety of settings. She is extremely grateful to all of those fellow travelers she has encountered in the mindfulness journey; we are all our greatest teachers.
